Bruce could miss a few more games

Right fielder Jay Bruce missed his fourth consecutive game Saturday with a sore right side, and manager Dusty Baker didn't expect Bruce back Sunday, and possibly not for the start of the next series at Colorado on Monday.

Jay Bruce hit his 17th homer, and a two-run rally in the eighth lifted the Reds to a 7-5 victory over the Cubs on Sunday in the finale of a three-game series before 30,809 at Great American Ball Park.

Bronson Arroyo pitched seven strong innings and Joey Votto hit a key sixth-inning home run to lift the Reds to a 5-2 win over the Dodgers on Sunday and claim the three-game series.

On Sunday afternoon Homer Bailey looked like he did in the last six weeks of 2009. He didn’t walk any batters, and allowed only three hits in his six innings of work.  It was his first appearance since May 23 when he lost to the Cleveland Indians and was put on the Disabled List shortly after. This was probably his second best outing of the season
