The Cincinnati Reds held All-Star second baseman Brandon Phillips out of the lineup Sunday against the Chicago Cubs because of a bruised left foot. Phillips fouled a ball off his foot in the eighth inning of Saturday’s 4-3 win. He struggled getting down the line as he grounded into a double play and was replaced in the ninth inning by Miguel Cairo.
